The 24 Hours of Daytona starts next weekend. The endurance race is one of the classics in global motorsport. Renowned manufacturers such as Porsche, BMW, Mercedes and General Motors send their teams on the 24-hour journey in Florida.

The e-sports platform IRacing also reproduces the event virtually. Over the last few years, the race has developed into the biggest event in the e-sports scene. The races are in no way inferior to the "real" race in terms of excitement and drama and are broadcast live on various platforms. The media presence is enormous. Many sponsors have recognized the reach of virtual sport and support the drivers. Numerous drivers are professionals who compete exclusively in virtual racing. However, racing drivers from real motorsport also use the races for their winter training. Top drivers from series such as Formula 1 are at the starting line.

As a leading and innovative engineering service provider, GFI Engineering supports the United ESports team. United Esports is a successful team made up of real racing drivers and so-called "sim racers". The team has achieved many successes in recent months and won the training race (the 6h of Daytona) in a commanding manner.

"We have spent the last few days concentrating on preparing for the race. The team is motivated to the tips of their hair and we can hardly wait until it finally starts. We're giving it our all!" say the two team bosses Luca Voncken and Kiano Blum. Kiano is a Porsche Carrera Cup racing driver himself and has prominent drivers like Tom Kalender in his team. Tom is the reigning champion of the ADAC GT Masters series. The ADAC GT Masters is one of the strongest touring car championships in the world. Some of the other team members are also "real" racing drivers.

GFI Engineering wishes all 8 drivers a successful event. Let's go racing!
